Local-first by design

Privacy Policy

Effective August 10, 2026

Overview

Walnut Signal is designed to work locally on your iPhone. Symposium Studios does not collect personal data through the app.

Data the app handles

Patch names, notes, synthesis settings, sequences, and saved variations are stored in the app’s local container on your device. They are not transmitted to Symposium Studios and are not synchronized to a cloud account.

Data we do not collect

  • No account or profile information
  • No analytics, advertising identifiers, or tracking data
  • No microphone recordings or audio input
  • No location, contacts, photos, health, or financial data
  • No cloud-synchronized patch content

Audio and permissions

Sound is synthesized on device. Walnut Signal does not request microphone access. The app’s privacy manifest declares no tracking and no collected data.

External links

The About screen can open this website for policy and support information. Once you leave the app, the website or browser you use may operate under its own privacy settings.

Deleting local data

You can archive saved patches inside Walnut Signal. Removing the app from your iPhone removes its local app container according to iOS behavior. Reinstalling the app does not promise restoration of local patches.

Changes and contact

If the app’s data practices change, this policy and the App Store privacy disclosure will be updated before that behavior ships. Questions can be sent to marcus@symposiumstudios.ai.
