Loafer's Bad Yard Day
Loafer's Bad Yard Day is a mobile-first tower-defense roguelite about improvised household defenses, escalating bug armies, and the ancient knowledge Loafer would prefer not to explain.

The backyard war
The core promise is legible at a glance: a familiar yard, a route under pressure, household objects made useful, and a home worth protecting. The strange layer arrives gradually, through Loafer and the artifact world below the patio.
That gives the game its tonal contract: bright cartoon comedy and toy-scale ingenuity first; neon artifact pressure second. The bugs can be serious. The game does not have to be grim.

Make weapons from the house
Crossbows, glue guns, catapults, wire, wood, rubber, and spare hardware establish the system before any magic bends it. The visual rule is household-first, strange-second.

Each apparatus keeps the material logic that makes it funny and understandable.
Build, aim, fire, impact, and recovery need to read before detail accumulates.
Silhouette and effect need to survive the smaller surface the game is being designed for.
The world behind the patio
The character direction gives the game its center of gravity: a theatrical, ancient-knowledge cat with a lived-in home, a comic point of view, and a very limited ability to keep the artifact situation contained.
The palette moves from sun-faded summer materials toward selective neon interruption and invented artifact geometry. It is visual direction for a later game, not a claim of historical authenticity or title clearance.

A game made from proof, not promises
Loafer is being developed through bounded decisions: establish the visual system, make the first tactical route legible, test the story transition, and only then earn broader production scope.
The current concept book establishes the warm pixel grammar, characters, apparatus, tactical spaces, and the campaign’s controlled turn toward the strange.
The Patio is the canonical first tactical proof: a tight route with build, pressure, and recovery decisions that can be inspected before scope expands.
A title-clearance pass and a playable vertical-slice gate come before release, storefront, or final-art claims.

Current development boundary
Loafer's Bad Yard Day is a working title. The public record currently covers concept direction and proof planning only. There is no public playable build, release date, storefront listing, final art package, or title/trademark clearance claim.
